Randomness. (but with a purpose)
{I'd like to share with ya what the LORD has been doing, as well as some upcoming posts I'm working on! Here goes.}
1. Olivia got baptized today.
She told me the other night that she was having doubts of her salvation,
so I used that helped me to battle those bouts of depression. We stayed up till about 1:30 talking. Soon after, she asked mom if she could get baptized.
(side note! Baptism is not essential to salvation. Instead, it is a step of obedience.)
2. Six Weeks Left.
uh hum, six weeks left! (till what? read here.)
3. Thanks to everyone who entered the photo contest!
4. Wanna send a post in?? email me here.
5. Olivia's playing a duet for church tonight, for the first time! I Hope I can post a video.
What's a post without a picture???

beauty.
"Beauty. It's a word that's plastered all over. But while there's nothing wrong with being beautiful, the fashion industry, magazines, and newspapers all contort and give a skewed perception of it. Instead of natural and healthy it's now scarily skinny, heavily made up, and scantily clad. "Skinnier is better, lose weight now, how to transform yourself into the beauty you've always want to be," the press yells. Influenced by the media and peer pressure, it places so much pressure on teenage girls. With airbrushed, artificial models on the covers of magazines, it's hard not to become self conscious. Feeling worthless, ugly, and fat, so many are pushed into depression and eating disorders, disorders which confine and trap the soul."

His Way is Perfect.
Have you ever had one of those times when you wonder...
- why the Lord has you here.
- what the Lord has in store for you.
I guess it was one of those times when I was really wondering if the Lord wanted us where we are. Wondering if he really wanted us here. Wondering if he would ever get us out, ya know what I mean? Just wondering. More than likely called, doubting, doubting his will.
It was evening, night. I was in my room, and I was kinda cleaning up and just thinking about this subject. I began a 'pity party'. Let me tell you, girls are good at that, and it's not good to be good at that! You see everybody else's life and wonder where the Lord is at. Is he there? You want to cry out like David, "God, have you forsaken me?"
Of course he hasn't, but on that particuliar moment, I wasn't about to think of the verses in Lamentations 3:
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Yet, I layed down on my bed and grabbed my Bible. I prayed, literally, that the LORD would direct me where to turn and what I would read that would help. I closed my eyes and leafed through and suddenly stopped. I almost gasped when I saw what I had turned to. The Lord had truly invaded my self pitying thoughts. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Ecc 3:1)
Basically, I groaned when I saw it. but I continued reading the whole chapter. This is what stood out to me.
I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
that men should fear before him.
I love in the last verse where it says 'that man should fear before him.'
His plan for my life is so that others will come to know him, fear him, and have a relationship with him. Everything he does is for a reason, nothing is wasted, no needless tears are shed. His plan is a gift, His will can be accepted or rejected.
I just need to remember that He maketh all things beautiful in His time.
-pity party over-
